  A big thank you to the Town of Barnegat NJ Police Department! I own a sports car that my son drives also. He went to the "Jersey Shore" for the first time this weekend to visit his girlfriend and her family while they vacationed there. On the first night, when he was driving her car into town with her to see the "Jersey Shore" for the first time, they were pulled over for having a commercial license plate on an "unmarked" vehicle. I have no idea what that is but her father owns a business. The second night, when he was driving my sports car to get pizza with her, they were pulled over again because the officer said my son looked in his rear view mirror when the police car got up close on his tail. He was then told to get out of the car, questioned about an open soda can in the car, interrogated about what he might have in the car or might have done, the police officer threatening to bring over the canine to the car. My son had not been speeding, not been drinking, had nothing in the car except leftover pizza, a soda and his girlfriend. My first reaction was that the police officers should be accused of profiling and harassment. But we have multiple police officers and government workers in our family so I tend to side with law enforcement. So my only conclusion can be that the "Jersey Shore" is a very high crime area full of no-gooders and that our family should avoid it.
